Information

Find out about your SQL Server database system with Azure Database Performer and view important configuration settings and parameters at a glance

View the most important parameters and configuration settings of your cloud databases and database systems.

Azure Database Performer shows you the settings centrally that you would otherwise have to laboriously find by clicking in the Management Studio, in the Azure web interface or using a Powershell script. With Azure Database Performer you can find everything at a glance.

Azure Database Performer

You connect to your SQL server as usual, select the desired analysis option and the database and start the analysis.

Azure Database Performer will now begin collecting operational data. This data is processed and displayed and evaluated in your standard browser.

Azure Database Performer

Once the analysis is complete, you will see findings and information in the analysis center in your standard browser. Information on the topics of fragmentation, backups, resources and costs, statistics, general database information and server information is displayed. The data is evaluated and analyzed. For this purpose, a severity level and a message are added at some points. Important points or notes are highlighted in color.

Azure Database Performer

For example, Azure Database Performer looks at the fragmentation (an essential point for optimizing database performance) of the indexes and tables and indicates this if the fragmentation is too high. This is done with an appropriate level of severity, color and a message. Additionally, useful information is provided on how to eliminate fragmentation.

Azure Database Performer

Azure Database Performer shows you whether your SQL Azure database has been backed up. And at what interval the backups are carried out.

Azure Database Performer

Important database settings are displayed and evaluated. A severity level and a short message are added. For example, if the statistics in a database are not automatically updated or created, this means that SQL Server may not create optimal execution plans and the associated queries will be significantly slower, etc.

Azure Database Performer

An important point with an Azure SQL Database or a server hosted in Azure is to know what resources and costs are involved. Azure Database Performer reads and displays the associated service tiers and performance tiers. Useful links are provided, including the Azure Database Price Calculator or links to explanations of the deployment model.

Azure Database Performer

A common cause of slow, non-performing queries is missing indexes. Azure Database Performer reads the information provided by the Query Optimizer and displays missing indexes.

Azure Database Performer

The most important information about the SQL database server, which is required in all deployment variants, is displayed here. Anomalies in the configuration are also highlighted and identified here.
